Tías leads the way in Lanzarote with the highest number of Blue Flag beaches: Los Pocillos, Matagorda, and Pila de la Barrilla. Los Pocillos and Matagorda have been emblematic of the island’s southern region, retaining this honour for over a decade.
Los Pocillos Beach, located in Puerto del Carmen, is renowned for its extensive golden sands and the palm-fringed promenade stretching over a kilometre. The tranquil waters are perfect for bathing and snorkelling, while the area offers a variety of leisure activities for all ages.

Pila de la Barrilla, often referred to as ‘Playa Chica’ due to its 90-metre length, is a charming cove of sand and rock surrounded by volcanic formations. Historically, these cliffs served as sharpening tools for the barrels used by the island's early inhabitants.

Blue Flags in Arrecife, Teguise, and Yaiza
